"Pompelmo has concluded my olfactory journey inspired by Italian citrus fruits. Originating in Asia, where it was revered as a sacred offering to the gods, grapefruit—like many citrus fruits—first appeared in Seville, Spain, around the 12th-13th century during the Arab domination. Among citrus fruits, grapefruit stands out to me, especially for its bitter flavor. Unlike sweet scents, which I find obvious and uninspiring, bitterness, in my opinion, is one of the most vibrant aromas. This preference may stem from my Italian heritage, where many beverages celebrate bitterness. To make Pompelmo a unique fragrance, I focused on capturing both the lively, sour freshness of grapefruit and emphasizing its bitter scent."
